Your First Visit

Your initial appointment will consist of a very thorough exam, x-rays and photographs. Usually a panoramic x-ray is needed to diagnose and plan for implants. Models of your teeth may be necessary to evaluate your bite. The purpose of the first visit is to gather all the proper diagnostics. Just as if you were having a medical surgery, the tests are done first and a consultation appointment is made after the doctor has reviewed everything.

If you were sent a welcome packet, please complete all the forms before arriving, as this will allow the doctor to see you on schedule.

A thorough medical history and a list of medications you are presently taking, and any medication allergies will be necessary. Please alert the office if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery (i.e. diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.) or if you are on any medication (i.e. heart medications, aspirin, blood-thinners, etc.) Premedication or a change in medications may be required prior to surgery.

If you are being referred by your dentist, please bring your referral slip if you were given one.

If you have dental insurance, bring your insurance cards. A few dental insurance plans pay a portion of implant procedures. This will save time and allow us to help you process any claims.

Your Second Visit

At this visit the doctor will consult you on your particular treatment options. Dr. Amin would have already spent a great deal of time analyzing the information that was gathered from the first diagnostic appointment. You will be able to review the photos that were taken to gain a better understanding of your condition.

Dr. Amin will review all of your dental implant options in detail.

A written treatment plan, sequence of treatment and fees will also be presented. Your next appointment will be made on that day.
